Fort Carson's Year in Review

If our team here at Carson could pick one word to describe our first year of Deployed Love at Fort Carson it would be: optimistic.

If our team here at Carson could pick one word to describe our first year of Deployed Love at Fort Carson it would be: optimistic.

2020 has been a pivotal year for Deployed Love as it was our first year at several bases. Our Fort Carson team met for the first time in early 2020 and got right to work. In the early days of planning this first year, we knew we were going to have to navigate COVID-19 but we really didn’t know what that was going to look like. We were optimistic.

Months go by and our team is growing closer and learning each other and how to work together. We were checking to-dos off the list, working on behind the scenes details, and planning our big day. We began accepting applications and the response from local families was absolutely incredible. We were optimistic.

Late summer came and Colorado’s COVID-19 response was (still) ever changing and started to look like it would be the demise of our Holiday Minis event. Our team effortlessly pivoted to implement every safety guideline possible. We secured our outdoor venue and felt like things were falling right into place. We were optimistic.

Optimism paid off and our 2020 Holiday Mini Photo Sessions at Willow Springs Ponds in Fountain, Colorado were absolutely beautiful and our hearts could not be any warmer after serving our 60 fort Carson families.

Our Fort Carson team will be adding new coordinators for 2021 and will open applications for our 2021 Holiday Mini Sessions in early summer. We can’t wait to meet you and your families and are looking forward to an excellent new year!
