Fort Stewart: A Year in Review

We were thrilled to bring Deployed Love to Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Air Field this year. Although it wasn’t without its challenges, this amazing group of volunteers and photographers were able to serve the community in a major way.

To start off with a bang, we had a giveaway on our Facebook page featuring items from local small businesses owned by military spouses. It was a huge hit! Everything from earrings to tumblers were included in the basket and given to a nominated spouse with a deployed servicemember.

As we ramped up for the Holiday Mini Photo Shoot, we got a chance to see how large an impact Deployed Love can make. We filled up all of our spots in less than 24 hours. Our photographers- Sashya, Lucky, and Chantel- were able to take some fabulous photos even with the rain showers in the morning and late afternoon!

With our holiday music playing and lots of goodies to give out, the check in table was all set to greet our families. Our beautiful location at JF Gregory Park provided the most amazing backdrop.

As a parting gift, each of our participants was sent a Virtual Goodie Bag. It contains excellent resources for the area- including cost effective activities for kids and contact information for departments on post. Our volunteers worked tirelessly to bring a great event to the families of Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Air Field, and the families responded with enthusiasm. There is no doubt that this event will grow and be able to provide even more families with memories that will last a lifetime.
